Norad Santa Tracker 2010 Official Site

Few more hours from now and it would be Christmas 2010! Merry Christmas to all! The tradition of tracking Santa continues this year as a lot of people around the world look for answers to the famous question: “Where is Santa Claus Now? This will be one of the questions that the Santa Tracker will answer come Christmas Day 2010.

Once again, a lot of people all over the world would be tracking Santa Claus through the NORAD Santa Claus tracker as well as in Google Earth as he travel different cities in various countries to give gifts to people this Christmas. NORAD Santa Claus tracker has officially opened last December 1, 2010. As of now, you can’t really track Santa Claus yet, but there are fun and games presented in NORAD’sSanta Tracker site.

NORAD or the North American Aerospace Defense Command has been tracking Santa Claus for over 50 years. In 2007, they teamed up with Google formally on the project to track the location of Santa in Google Earth. For this year, Google announced last December 12, 2010 in their blog that this year’s site has gone live.

In addition to tracking Santa on the NORAD Santa Tracker homepage, you can also track his flight in Google Earth. However, before you can do that, you need to download the Google Earth plug in which is available here.

Before Christmas Eve, visit the Google Earth website to download the Google Earth plugin. On Christmas Eve, visit the NORAD Tracks Santa website to track Santa in Google Earth using the Google Earth plugin. To get started, click Track Santa in Google Earth in the top menu as shown below:

Alternatively, on the day of Christmas eve, you can also join NORAD to track Santa’s flight from your phone. On December 24th, open Google Maps for mobile and do a search for “Santa” to see his latest location. Tracking Santa will now be much easier for all the iPhone and iPad users to track Santa Claus.
