The Pittsburgh Steelers QB will undergo surgery on Monday to repair damage caused by a broken nose in Sunday's win against the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
Roethlisberger suffered the broken nose, which was visibly mangled, in the first quarter and continued to play. He was also suffering from a sprained foot for which he was wearing a reinforced shoe.
"It hurt a lot," Roethlisberger said of his foot pain, "but the broken nose took some of the pain away."
Roethlisberger's nose was injured on a sack by Ravens defenders Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata.
He went 22-for-38 for 253 yards to lead the Steelers to a 9-3 record that claimed first place in the AFC North.
