Venus Williams has surprised everyone after she appeared on the Australia open with a very short dress that almost made it seems he was playing in her underwear! This Venus Williams short dress has to be the
shortest one we’ve seen so far. What will happen next time? Will it get even shorter? Check it out: The photos were taken at an Australian Open 2011 game played on Monday, against Sara Errani. In the end Venus grabbed a fast victory with 6-3 and 6-2.
But did you know the dress could have been even more controversial? That’s right in a post-game interview, Venus detailed reporters that the original idea was to wear “nude shorts” under. Those are shorts that have the same color as your skin, so you give the illusion at first that you are not wearing anything on the bottom! Perhaps this is a new tactic to distract opponents and get wins easier, who knows?
And why she decided to change her shorts at the last minute. She explains:
“I just decided to wear the black ones. But, you know, it’s just about focusing on the dress and not anything else. I mean, I had black shorts under.
But normally like it’s all about the dress because it has a mesh and a satin kind of material. Of course, it’s all sports gear, and it’s all about that zipper, too. A lot of the focus of the dress is the zipper.” Tennis superstar Venus Williams recently turned a few heads after she debuted an outfit that seemed to be missing the bottom half. Williams sported a blue “mini-dress” during a match, and caused quite a few people to begin wondering whether or not there if there was such a thing as “too short” on the courts.
Although the star had on black spandex shorts underneath her mini-dress, many people felt that it was still bordering on the indecent. However, that didn’t stop Williams from winning easily and beating her opponent in only two sets.
Williams is currently ranked fifth in the world, and she and her sister Serena had long been known from trying to bring a sense of fashion into the tennis world.
As of lately Williams has been known for raunchy outfits – she wore a sequined dress paired with flesh colored shorts to the 2010 US Open. Day 3 of the Australian Open is just hours away, but Day 2 was chock full of excitement and drama.
From Rafa’s first win of his Aussie quest to Venus catching heat for her choice of wardrobe to Andy Roddick, Roger Federer and Andy Murray all looking fantastic in their opening-round matches, it can be a little tough to keep track of everything going on.
