Today, Jim Harbaugh was hired by the San Francisco 49ers. During the press conference, there was a 4.1 magnitude earthquake in San Francisco, CA that occurred simultaneously. The Bay Area is known to have these types of earthquakes. No one at the conference felt the shake. However, many people are treating this as a sign from late Bill Walsh.
Bill Walsh, like Harbaugh, was a former Stanford Cardinal head coach. He too went on to coach the San Francisco 49ers. He had 10 glorious years with the 49ers, leading them to 3 Super Bowl victories with Joe Montana at the helm.
Harbaugh is seen to be the savior for the 49ers organization. The Niners was the most talented team out of the NFC West but failed to earn a playoff birth. This lead to the firing of head coach Mike Singletary. Harbaugh signed a 5 year, $25 million contract with the club. He and GM Trent Baalke will be in control of the team and they will work together to come up with the final 53 man roster.
